About Hayley O’Brien

Hayley is the newest member of Mary Byrne’s physiotherapy team. She is a member of the Irish Society of Charted Physiotherapists in Ireland. Hayley graduated with her master’s program at Teesside University in 2015. After graduating Hayley began her career working with the NHS in the United Kingdom. She gained valuable clinical experience working in different areas of neurology/gerontology, respiratory, orthopedics and musculoskeletal outpatients.  Along with working in the NHS, Hayley worked in private practice specializing in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation and Pilates.

Prior to her master’s she completed her BSc. in Sport and Exercise Sciences at University of Limerick in 2012. Her combined knowledge and the experience from both her undergraduate and post-graduate degrees as allowed Hayley develop a special interest in sport injuries and rehabilitation. In 2015, she had the great opportunity to work as part of the physiotherapy team that helped the Cork Ladies Minor team win the All Ireland Minor Title.

As an opportunist, Hayley has combined both passion and interest working in Japan this past winter providing physiotherapy to skiers and snowboarder. Hayley continues to provided up to date evidence based practice to her patients with special emphasis on patient centered care.
