Occupational Injury & Ergonomic Advice
Poor sitting posture at work or at home for prolonged periods a day can lead to strain and pain in the muscles and ligaments in the neck and back often extending to arms and legs.
A lot of occupations involve repetitive small movements or repeated heavy lifting which causes excessive strain and load on the musculoskeletal structures. This can lead to pain and injury and days out of work.
These symptoms can be alleviated by taking regular rest periods or regular stretching /movement breaks.
Injury and pain may be prevented by improving the fit between the worker and the environment both at home and at work.
